THE GOOD
Joshua Williamson crafts tight well developed stories. More than anything this issue gives you the satisfaction of knowing that Williamson knows what the secret to this whole story is. Of course, that does not mean you find out what that secret it. The town of Buckaroo is even more twisted than you might think. The first five issues of the story set up the main players, the latter five give more about the town, this issue takes the floor right from under you. You peer into the face of evil and it is bloody and gory, thanks to the amazing talent of Mike Henderson. Seriously this book is so well drawn. The story in this issue is fantastic! The type of mirroring in the situations the characters are in make it a great read. Very well done Josh. THE BAD This is not an issue for the faint of heart. It is heavy. It is dark. Not a bad thing for me personally, but beware - if you had a tough time getting through the first 10 issues, this issue will not be any easier. It is intense. Though it works perfectly well for the story. THE VERDICT I want this book to go on forever. The story changes gears and threads will start to be tied up. Finch and Warren share a tender moment, the tenderest. This new story arc begins with a bang. The dark world of Buckaroo is really starting to come out. Readers have only had a taste of the evil in that town but after this issue, it is very much real, very much alive. Great start to chapter three. |
